Guitar and Ukelele Teacher
Leonard Rodriguez
With over 45 years of experience playing guitar, I began my musical journey at the age of six. I grew up in a deeply musical family where my grandparents and extended relatives would gather to sing traditional Mexican folk songs along with country and blues music. Those early experiences shaped my musical foundation and appreciation for diverse styles.

My influences span a wide range of genres including Mexican folk, country, blues, rock, jazz, funk, fusion, acoustic fingerstyle, folk, and various ethnic music traditions. By the age of sixteen, I was already performing in bands and regularly attending blues jam sessions at the Bastille in Hanford during the early 1990s.

Over the years, I have performed throughout California’s Central Valley in nightclubs, live music venues, and blues festivals. I had the honor of playing at the very first Hanford Blues and Roots Festival in 2001, and have returned to perform there several times since.

In recent years, I have dedicated my time to teaching guitar and sharing the knowledge I’ve gained from a lifetime of playing. My teaching method focus on technique, ear training, improvisation, performance skills, and understanding guitar gear. I believe the guitar is one of the most versatile instruments, offering players endless opportunities for creativity and personal expression.
